Different tests for different things

Testing sucks but we have to take them because without it, we may not be able to start our journey to higher education and/ or beyond.

ACT (American.College.Testing)

The ACT is a college entrance exam that every student should take if they are interested in attending a 2-year community college or a 4-year university. It is scored 1-36. This test is a four hour paper/pencil exam that consists of English, reading, math, and science.

SAT (Scholastic.Aptitude.Test)

SAT is an equivalent test to ACT and mostly taken in states along the coast. SAT has 4 sections: reading, writing and language, math (no calculator), and math (calculator). The SAT score range is 400-1600 for the total score.

Accuplacer

If you score poorly on the ACT/ SAT and/or decide not to take either but still want to attend a 2-year community college, this is an another testing option. All accuplacer tests use a multiple-choice format except for WritePlacer®, which is an essay test. There’s no time limit on the tests, so you can focus on doing your best to demonstrate your skills (reading, writing, math, english, if ESL).

Union entrance exam

Union entrance exam is the test you have to taken if you want to join a union. This exam covers a variety of academic subjects, including mathematics, reading comprehension, vocabulary and mechanical aptitude. Entrance exams are usually timed and it is entirely possible to pass the test without answering all of the questions. Focus instead on giving accurate answers.
